This is absolute bullshit. Science is amazing but Religion can be beautiful and only truly promotes love. The evil in a few people does not describe Religion as a whole. This just shows blind ignorance towards the true beauty that Religion promotes.

Religion doesn’t promote beauty, it promotes ignorance and obstruction from truth. It promotes believing in things without evidence, and way too many people take advantage of that.

Science is what promotes true beauty. Only with science are able to understand how intricate and complicated the universe and life actually is. It’s science that has given us the insight on the wonderful things life has to offer, while religion has done nothing but the exact opposite.

In fact, religion actually tries to demolish what science has accomplished. Whereas science teaches people to be open-minded and seek knowledge for themselves, religion teaches people to only believe a certain set of outdated lies, and blinds people from the truth. Religious people can’t argue this, because they believe the truth IS what’s in their book (whether it be the Bible or the Qur’an).

However, it’s funny how time and time again, several of their “truths” have been debunked ages ago. Yet people still choose to ignore the facts and BLINDLY believe. As though they are desperately in need of it. Not to mention a lot of the things the church regarded as being true, ended up being completely false.

The world would be a better place without religion. There would be no more wars. The Israeli/Palestine conflict would end. People would stop hating each other for not being in the same religion. Societies would actually focus on more important affairs rather than wasting time deciding if gay marriage/abortion/stem cell research should be allowed, when it’s obvious what the answer is. And a lot of individuals would do better things with their money rather than giving it away to some bogus organization who claims to be holy and instead uses that money to build towering monuments made of gold that serve of no use other than to fool people into giving them more money.

So yeah, stop trying to pretend that religion promotes love. It only promotes hatred and discrimination. It splits families apart and turns people against each other. If religion really was about promoting love, it wouldn’t talk about some invisible being that supposedly created the universe and happens to be concerned about who we worship and what we do. -_-

There was a time when I studied demonology of various religions and what struck me was that overwhelming majority of demons was man-shaped, had human-like traits, characters and faults. Kind of monotonic if you are an ultimate creator of the universe yet you stick with just one form only. But totally understandable if you are a primitive shepherd and you invent your own god.

Praise the Lord, for He is the One and Only God. It says so in the Bible!

The Bible tells us of the only true god because the Bible says so.  The fact that you can’t at least acknowledge an irony here is rather disturbing to people like me. A book cannot be it’s own source, particularly not a book that is demonstrably wrong in so many import aspects.

I think OP sees the irony, but chooses to ignore it. Like how many theists choose to ignore facts and reality. Also yes, the Bible being proof of god is like Harry Potter being proof of Hogwarts.
